A drift punch, or drift pin, or lineup punch,is used as an aid in aligning bolt or rivet holes prior to inserting afastener. A drift punch is constructed as a tapered rod, with thehammer acting on the large end of the taper.
Chisel tools are used for cutting or carving hard materialssuch as metal, stone or wood. A chisel tool has a shaped cutting edge of ablade on its end, with a handle that is characteristically made of wood ormetal.
